Stone design in India has been an increasingly popular theme in the past few years, but it’s not just the traditional stone carving.
Indianapolis-based stone designer John Lampertz is taking his craft to a new level by designing stone mailbox designs with the help of his stone design studio, CNC Stone Design, located in Indianopolis, Indiana.
In an interview with Huffington Post, Lampertz shared his inspiration for the new designs, which he says he’s been working on for about three years.
“The stone is always the first thing that comes to mind when I think of an object that I want to do something with,” he said.
“The idea for a mailbox design comes from the stone I was working on in the first place.”
Lamptz began his career in the mid-1990s as a commercial architect.
He has worked on a number of corporate and residential projects, and his clients include the Indianapolis Colts, Buckets of America, the American Cancer Society, and American Airlines.
As a result, he’s a certified architect.
He says the inspiration for his new designs came from his desire to make something that would complement the home and his love for designing and building.
“I wanted to use a lot of different materials, but I also wanted it to be something that felt a little more modern,” Lamperts said.
While designing the design for a custom-designed stone mailbox, Lamptz found inspiration from his previous design studio work.
“We started with the same materials, just using different colors and patterns,” Lampts said, adding that the design was inspired by his own love for design and architecture.
LampreyStone’s website says that the stone is used for the interior design, the exterior design, and the exterior trim.
“Lampreys Stone is a hand crafted stone that is used to build a beautiful stone mailbox,” the site reads.
“It is a very sturdy stone that will withstand a lot.
Its also an easy stone to work with.
We have been working with this stone for about 3 years.”
LampreiStone’s homepage also says the stone was designed and crafted in partnership with Bucks of America.
It’s unclear how many of Lampert’s clients have already bought one of his custom stone mailbox creations.
According to CNBC, Lamperts designs are often seen in the homes of celebrities such as Madonna, Rihanna, and even Prince.
